Treasure Boxes - cutting

It's still Friday where I am!

What a week!

Harvest started this week... 'nuff said.  Good news is that it's the last crazy/busy season of the year, so I just have to make it until a little in to November.

Here are the cutting instructions for the Treasure Boxes Quilt Along.
This is our "assignment" for this week. :)  Add your pictures of your fabric!

*Please note: you can cut your squares at 8 7/8" instead of 9" if you prefer not to trim when done.

I hope these directions are pretty clear!  When I'm done with the Quilt along posts, I'm going to compile the graphics/pages in to a pattern that will be for sale with all proceeds to benefit Quilt Hope In.  So if you think you might want this pattern -- save/copy the file now. :)

The little etsy shop Quilt Hope In had its first sale since re-opening.  I listed this little color wheel dresden I made; it sold and shipped off this week. yea!

If you would like to list something, email me with pictures, the price and all that jazz.  The payment goes directly to Heartline, so if you need compensation for shipping, please make sure to let me know, so an arrangement can be made with the buyer aside from their payment.

Anyway -- I gotta go to bed.

Quilt Hope In sold its first item. 

The grand opening of the shop (with giveaway prizes for people who want to make something to donate -- Email me a picture if you want to donate some fabric for the giveaway!) is Tuesday, February 1.

You know, Lee said it best a few weeks ago... the more I read about Heartline, the more I like it. 

I feel the same way.  I feel excited to be able to do our little part, as a united bloggy world, to help out.

On their one year anniversary

Nothing is finalized yet, but on the one year anniversary of Haiti's earthquake, our little shop, Quilt Hope In, is open for business.

I usually go for the aqua (shocker, huh?), but I think I might really like the orange this time...

Progress on Quilt Hope In:

Heartline is working with us now to get the funding logistics sorted (we'll have a link on the Quilt Hope in blog -- in progress), and we're trying to decide how to link the paypal funding so as to minimize charges/admin costs.  

Anyway -- I was just excited about these really cute headers and wanted to show you. 

(We also have our first fabric bundles donated from SewLoveFabrics... and I'm working on gathering some more -- for our giveaway, I hope to have fabric that y'all can win that you will then use to make quilts for the Moms and Kids in Haiti.)

Oh, P.S. -- If you knit or make a bag or something, we'll happily accept those donations too...any high quality fabric/yarn goodies will be accepted.

Speaking of orange and aqua...

I'm working on finishing up my Modern Swappers and Pillow Talk Swap 4 projects.  

I decided to hand-quilt one of my pillow covers, originally thought to be for my Modern Swappers partner... but my PTS4 partner has similar taste.  

I've caused a bit of a stir in flickr land... oops. 

Yes, I did use my Go! cutter to make this... the Rob Peter to Pay Paul die.

Right now Lee is designing our button and banner.
I've got emails out to the person in charge of fundraising at Heartline, and a few fabric shops who I'm hoping will donate some fabric bundles to help us get started.
I started setting up the etsy shop.

My plan:
A long-term quilt shop, ran by us, with all the money going to them.

This place has a hospital, women's program (that includes sewing lessons!), and children's home, among other things.

A worthy cause indeed.

So...maybe you've got some fabric that you didn't know how to use.
Or maybe you've been busy making one of those 100 Quilts for Christmas.
