WIP Wednesday - 6.8.11

Pin It Thank you for all the name suggestions!  There are some to run by the hubs later! :)  (Though I just wish he would agree to Dane Allen already... but maybe it will be a girl!). :)

I had some finishes this week (in part thanks to y'all's encouragement)

If you haven't seen it -- Scroll down or click here to see my niece Libby's diamond quilt.  It was my own design, and though it gave me some trouble, I am quite proud of it. :)

I also finished the bag for my Goodie Bag Swap, and got it in the mail!

Goodie bag swap finished

The pattern is Amy Butler's Cosmo bag from Style Stitches, and holy interfacing batman!!  I think each piece is interfaced, but it did turn out nicely.

The outside is a Michael Miller damask and dot, and I lined it with some Riley Blake Sugar and Spice.

I hope my partner is as much of an aqua and red fan as I think she is. :)
And I hope she likes big bags too... this one's almost as big as a two year old.

For scale...

Laugh at with me if you'd like, but I started a new project.

a little splurge

I pulled some fabric for my "take to the hospital" quilt... plan is to make it perfect whether we have a boy or a girl...

If Steiger goes to bed at a decent time, I'll have a shot of progress for this one soon!

I need to finish a quilt for my older niece and cousin's baby by the end of this month... so I hope to have plenty to show you soon! :)

Oh!  I almost forgot -- I'll get the giveaway winner posted ASAP (probably tonight), and I got a hair-cut today.

new hair...

I know what you mean about the interfacing in your bag - I made two Birdie Bags for Christmas gifts and I think I cut and fused interfacing for two full days!
Your bag turned out very cute!

I especially love the color palette for your take to the hospital quilt. I'm definitely laughing at...er...with...you for all of the quilts you are making this little one! Did Steiger get this many quilts?!

I love your "take to the hospital" fabric choices! But lady, I'm shaking my head at all your "to dos"! Yikes!

I've heard that cosmo bag is really tough. It came out beautifully though.

Great fabric pulls for your hospital quilt. I can't wait to see it come together!

I like your combination for the hospital quilt. And I don't make fun of anyone who adds another project. I've got far too many in the pan myself to make fun of anyone else!

Nice haircut!

I'll jump on the bandwagon the day after. I am a Nana now, and my grandson is 2 yr old Tyler. I love how OLD school most suggestions for boys were! I like Wyatt and Garrett. If my daughter ever has another boy, I'll push for those.

For girls I ADORE Lily and Willow. They are so feminine. Not too young or too old.

Here in the South, it seems that if you are traditional, you pick an old family name for a first name. (I'm glad my kids were born in So Cal!)

Tracey....I love the bag! Roomy and great colors. So far, I've not made any bags as I keep making quilts!

The fabrics for your hospital quilt are gorgeous. And. YOU look gorgeous with that new haircut. At 23 weeks, you are positively glowing.

Good luck with the baby names!

I have been looking at the honey prince charming and trying to convince myself I don't need it. But I think I want it lots lol! Your bundle you've put together is gorgeous! This is going to be one super lucky baby! :)

Love your "take to the hospital quilt!" I just bought 5 yds of interfacing today for an AB bag--cutting that out is the worst part! Cute bag, too! I ♥ the red and aqua!

Nice haircut Tracey Jay! You look wonderful! I love that you took your sewing machine outside...I am setting that up this weekend myself and I don't have a toddler! Enjoy the good weather. Beautiful fabric choices! Wish we could figure out the Farmer's Wife without templates :)
