Scrappy Sprouting

Scrappy Sprouts progress

I finished up my Starcrossed top last night (yay!), and got up before miss Scarlet to lay these Scrappy sprouts blocks out.  I need to choose a vertical sashing (I'm thinking a soft white solid so the eye has a place to rest? thoughts?) and plan to off-set the rows!  I think I'm going to use this amazing AMH print for the backing.

This quilt is going to be amazing!  Thank you thank you thank you to all of you who contributed blocks for my dear friend. ♥ I just need to scour my sewing area to make sure Scarlet didn't lose any of them, because she really liked pulling these out systematically from their zip-loc bag.

(To find out more, you can read here!  And see many of the blocks here!)

  8. I think the white sashing would be great since you've already got the vertical green stems as a vertical element that stands out. It's going to be such a stunning quilt Tracey!!

  10. It looks beautiful Tracey! I agree it needs somewhere to rest the eye, or it could be a bit overwhelming/busy. Yep a soft white, or a really pale soft grey might work too. Is was wondering if you got the pieces put up before Scarlet was up running around! I'm sure she'd love to help place things in order.

  14. Grey is always good for resting eyes, and will tie in nciely with backing. It is a beautiful quilt, I have made a Stems quilt but not scrappy one, I think this is next on my TO-DO list

  15. Wow Tracey, that looks amazing! I like that rainbow setting a lot and I agree too, a white vertical sashing would be good.
Looking forward to seeing the completed top!
