on Quilt Story today...

Fresh Poppy Design

Heather and Megan have featured my "if you're a girl" quilt on Quilt Story today. :)  (If you're new here... hello). :)

Finished if you're a girl quilt

It inspired me to sit down and start quilting the "If you're a boy" quilt.

I have to say something I love about these two quilts -- they are both so "me."  Oftentimes I make things based on what I think other people would like (I make a lot of gifts), but these two quilts... I picked what I loved (in gender specific colors of course), and went with it.  Actually -- I did that with my "hospital quilt" too...

We hit 34 weeks yesterday, and I am feeling it.  I need to take a 34 week picture, like I did with Steiger...

Yesterday my house smelled like Thanksgiving.  I baked a turkey and made a big batch of gravy (mmmm....), and had a chicken (for chicken 'n dumplings) in the crock pot.  Today I need to finish the chicken 'n dumplings, make turkey soup, and make lasagna.  The freezer meal prep begins... (and the husband has been given strict instructions not to touch them until AFTER this baby is born).  I think I need to plan a trip to my grandma's swimming pool in there too... and a nap too, of course. ;)

(I have to admit though -- even though I'm still pretty nervous about labor and how everything's going to go, I'm getting pretty excited to hold this sweet babe... and see who it is hanging out in there with me)

  1. Hello! I'm new here. Came over to snoop around from Quilt Story. And I added you to my blog reader. And I don't do that to just anyone!

I shall light pink candles for the few weeks to help your girl wishes come true!

  2. The labor part is always a little scary to think about, but you have much to be excited about, just a few short weeks and you will be cuddling that sweet little one!!

All 3 of your quilts turned out just beautiful...I feel like I have missed so much since being in bed sick, funny how the world just goes right on without ya!

Later you will have to send me some of your recipes so I can "prepare" all the meals you are making sound so yummy!

  6. I saw the post about you at Quilt Story, nice. It's funny I saw the quilt and thought "where am I?". Then there was Steiger. Congratulations on being a star.

  7. Hi Tracey...congrats on being featured at Quilt Story! I saw that earlier.

Your quilts are great...I keep wondering which it will be, the pink or the blue? You must be too! This is a very exciting time for families (and us here on your blog)!

Its great that you're creating freezer meals and they sound yummy!

Have fun finishing up the quilting and then giving birth.

    Hugs, Karen

  8. I love the girl quilt. It turned out great.

Don't worry about the labor. I found that once I went into labor especially in the beginning part I just wanted to get thru it and get the baby out.

  9. All 3 quilts are beautiful! And so are you. Won't it be fun to cuddle a sweet smelling, warm, soft little nuzzly baby soon.

  10. Love these! Isn't it fun to create something YOU like instead of everyone else? Though I must say, you are quite good at guessing. I put Liv's blanket up on the side of her bed so I can delight in it's beauty every morning as I wake her up. So curious what you do with the blanket you don't use.
