First up --
Cara's Urban Lattice.
This is going to be Jay's manly quilt... and fittingly, Jay stayed up late with my Sunday night to finish all forty-eight blocks. I finished at 11:57.
I tried to get up before S on Monday morning to lay them all out, and I did beat him, but not by enough time. So I finished the lay-out during his nap, and got half of them sewn together that evening.
I am proud to report that making the blocks without paper piecing still resulted in perfectly aligned points.

Next up -- Aneela's "Pickledish" quilt along.
(I have heard that this isn't technically a pickledish block, but a modified wedding ring -- I'm not an expert, but I thought you might be interested in that little tidbit)
These are my latest obsession. I would sew these all day (and night) if I could.
You saw the last two...
...and then there were three.

In good news --
I got a finish this week! (show you Friday).
But I'm starting a new one (for my niece due to arrive sometime around March 1)
I love this Pink Lemonade look. :)
I'm linking this in to Lee's WIP Wednesday! Go see who else is playing. :)
i am smitten with your pickle dish. i love your fabric choices!
ReplyDeletePink lemondade - yes, that's exactly what that line is!! I love those Pickledish blocks, they look tricky. I love how they look, though :)
ReplyDeleteYour urban Lattace quilt is coming along great, and thanks for the tut on doing the angles without paper piecing. Happy WIP Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteYour Urban Lattice looks fabulous. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOk, you are the first one i've seen to put the pink with the yellow and gray, and I ADORE it!!!! It will be so wonderful- can hardly wait to see what pattern you use ;) Thanks for all the amazing inspiration- p.s. I got the I Dance in Circles quilt done (using Fandango like you did) and am sooooo happy with it. Thank you for amazing tutorials to help a girl who has never quilted before learn to make a quilt ;)!!
ReplyDeleteLove the urban lattice and the pickledish. I have been thinking of doing the pickledish quilt-along, but have been scared of all that piecing. It turns out so fun.
ReplyDeleteThe "pink lemonade" is cute. I am working with that line right now and I am crazy for the gray, green, and orange together. I love the manly quilt, btw.
ReplyDeleteThree more amazing quilts by Tracey, coming right up!
ReplyDeleteOuch! I think I just cut myself on those Urban Lattice points. ;) Well done!
ReplyDeleteAll just great! Awesome sewing. Great points on Urban Lattice, I am intrigued by Pickle Dishes, and I love the pink lemonade look, too!
ReplyDeleteAs always, beautiful stuff! We always called your pickle dish quilt a double wedding ring, but I don't know if that's regional or not. And I love the pink lemonade fabrics! Hubby's quilt is spectacular - the neutrals were a stroke of genius!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much I love your Urban Lattice quilt mate! You have done such a great job!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you make with the sunkissed! So sweet!
Love your pink lemonade-y fabrics. I just love that sunkissed line. And WOW to your lattice! You did some really cool visual stuff with it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! All of it!
ReplyDeleteI simply love all of them....the urban lattice is very very nice colours..really. spectacular job on all of them.
ReplyDeleteYour quilts look great.....you've been sewing alot! Congratulations on a finish! I can't wait to see it :)
ReplyDeleteLove your manly quilt. Showed it to my husband who was impressed and wanted to know when I was going to make one like it. : ) Pink lemonade-awesome!
ReplyDeleteoooo... I've just "discovered" the sunkissed range! I have to have the grey with the words :) I'm trying to figure out which other ones I can justify! :)
ReplyDeleteTracey, this is so funny - when you commented on my Urban Lattice the other day, you said you tried to "beat the boy up" so you could lay it out, and I totally read that the wrong way! Of course I knew you must have been joking, but still! Now that I've read your post I realize you meant you were trying to WAKE UP before him. Makes much more sense and I am far less concerned about Steiger now. : )
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, your U.L. looks FABULOUS. I love the dimension the different background colors give it! And the pickle dish is amazing too.
Thanks for linking up! Have a great week!
totally love the 'Manly' quilt! it is one of the nicest I've ever seen for a guy! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd of course the Pickle Dish is lovely!
Love the "pink lemonade" fabrics! So pretty! :) Esther
