Leaded Glass - BQF entry

Welcome to the Bloggers' Quilt Festival!

This is my entry for the year -- my "Leaded Glass" quilt

Leaded Glass

The design was about 3 years in the making, inspired by its namesake of a cool window I wanted to re-create in fabric, and is featured in this month's issue of American Quilter Magazine (on newsstands now!)

Leaded Glass

The quilt measures 72" square, and is machine quilted by Natalia Bonner from Piece and Quilt. She did amazing feathers, and pebbles, and cool cathedral shaped petals in the centers. And swirls... I just love it.

You can see more of the quilting in this angle.

Leaded Glass

This quilt uses a combination of basic piecing and paper piecing, in order to ensure those "grout" lines line up just perfectly, and other than carefully planning your color placement (if you don't want to go scrappy), is actually not a hard quilt to make.

Julie from Intrepid Thread has the kit for sale using the True Colors fabrics featured here! (and she had a coupon code for 10% off the kit + whatever else you buy with code TJLG10 --> only works with the kit too though!)

Thank you for visiting! (You can find me in the ROYGBIV quilts!)

  15. Tracey, this quilt is gorgeous! You said it was featured in this month's American Quilter magazine. Since you posted this in October does that mean it's in Oct or Nov issue?

  16. Is there any way to buy just one issue of American Quilter magazine online? I'm from rural USA and it doesn't sell on newsstands around here. All I'm seeing is to join AQS to get a subscription.

  17. Your quilt is so pretty! I had to order the kit back when I first saw it, and this month I got to work on it. I tweaked it a bit so it'd be a tiny different - extended the birder lobes one more set, basically. It's larger than I'd realized, so I'm thinking about going back to the inner set without the borders, but then I remember how much it called to me in the first place with all the white surrounding it.... but thanks for making the design available!

  18. Your quilt is amazing! Do you plan to release this as a stand-alone pattern eventually? Is this in the November 2014 issue?

  19. I fell in love with this quilt when I saw it hanging in my lqs. I hunted down the magazine and pattern and I am dying to make it. I have been putting it off for something "special" because it is so awesome.
Now, a dear friend of mine is having a baby so I thought I would make this for him. But 72" is too large for a baby quilt so I am trying to decide if I should 1) scale it down (5/8-ish), 2) eliminate blocks (6x6 blocks), or 3) save it for another time when 72" works... wondering what your thoughts might be on this.

  20. There are some attention-grabbing time limits on this article however I don’t know if I see all of them middle to heart. There's some validity but I'll take maintain opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we want more! Added to FeedBurner as nicely play casino

  21. I'm satisfied with the RM2-8311-000CN Low Voltage Power Supply that I upgraded my HP printer with. It fixed earlier power-related problems, but it also significantly enhanced the printer's overall performance. The concise instructions made the installation easy. Furthermore, it's a genuine HP component, so I'm confident in its durability and compatibility. I heartily advise using the RM2-8311-000CN - HP 110V Low Voltage Power Supply if you're having issues with your HP printer's power source. It's a reasonably priced option that can give your device a new life.
