Sunday's fabric

DSC_0522

We got our carpet cleaned this week.

In trying to get the floor cleared, I sorted through some fabric, and decided to audition some options for my month of the VIBees (not until March).

I started with this recent acquisition (Alexander Henry's Amelie)

AH's Amelie

Added in some other florals

starting to pull fabrics

And went with the whole "green, beige, blue, mustard, brown" color scheme (Don't ask me what the relationship of that is on the color wheel).

What do you all think of this pile?  Think it will make a good modified wedding ring?

Thank you for all the love on the Urban Lattice quilt! (from Cara's Urban Lattice Quilt along)

Krista Poppyprint pointed out that I'm fulfilling my own prediction of mixed neutrals... but they do go together so nicely.

Here are twenty-eight of the required forty-eight blocks done.

Urban lattice quilt along progress

These are not in their final lay-out, I just wanted to see them together on my (clean) floor.

  1. I do like the colors.. they look nice together.. I havn't heard of modified wedding ring before, so I will have to go now and look that one up and see what it looks like.. but I'm sure it will be fantastic!

  3. wow, your manly quilt is really shaping up to be...so manly! It reminds me of the beach with sand, blue sky, and a checkered picnic blanket. ☼ Love it!

Definitely like your collection of fabrics for the wedding ring! A comment? Hmm...gut reaction is...maybe a pop of color? The innocent crush bubble burst in brown--see that reddish color in the center of the bubble? that's what I'd like to see in other prints. Just enough to pop out but not enough to be overwhelming. Maybe not though because you seem to be attracted to calming neutrals; you're so darn GOOD at it!

  8. Every time I see your neutral quilt, I smile - I love the way the neutrals make the blues pop out visually. They look like they float on the surface...

  10. oooo, it's looking so fantastic and the mixed neutrals totally make it (you're SO clairvoyant).

Um, modified wedding ring? Am I supposed to make that? You've got me worried! If I get to work with that luscious stack, I promise to try my hardest and make it a nice block.
