Each year, my grandma bakes up the houses, and we decorate.
Here's my 2010 Gingerbread house.
I was hoping for a Scandanavian/folksy feel; I think I got it.
My favorite part was the cute little walk... until my darling husband stole some of the pieces from it.
Apparently I have to explain to both my boys that these cookie houses aren't for eating. ;)
Steiger's definitely having a hard time with the concept.
Speaking of Folksy -- looky what came from Moda today. :)
It's the new line, Hideaway, from Lauren and Jessi Jung.
I haven't heard much buzz about it, but I really ♥ it. :) It's so cute.

And go see what's going on at Quilt Hope In!
Love that! I can bake but not gingerbread so I buy the kits every year.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric line looks super cute. This is the first I've seen of it.
I think you nailed the feel pretty well on that house. Well done. It looks good enough to eat! Love the new fabric, too. Really cute!
ReplyDeleteTracey, that is so cute! And FYI, Lilli's teacher makes houses for them to decorate by gluing graham crackers to milk cartons, then giving them icing and candies to decorate with! It makes them nice and sturdy....
ReplyDeleteDo you have a new moda project coming up? I didnt even see that line anywhere on their site. Where do you go and look at their new stuff?
ReplyDeleteAnd if you dont eat the house then what do you do with it...because Im with the boys on this one. HAHA
Love that new fabric. Spill how you found it!
ReplyDeleteVery {sweet} house! I need to find some time to make ours soon!
ReplyDeleteHmm, planning on doing some baking over the holidays? *nudge*wink* Just wonderin', what with all that fabric from you know who arriving and all.
Your house is so cute! Love it. Creamie keeps telling me that she can eat her house on Christmas, at the party. I guess we'll have to have to figure out some big party.... because she is adamant that there will be big gingerbread consuming festivities.
ReplyDeletethe gingerbread house looks....yummy :).
ReplyDeleteactually, i couldn't understand why none of the moda folks advertised 'hideaway' at market & i haven't heard a word from most of my 'new cute collection coming soon' sources except for the u.n. website (even lauren's and jessi's blog didn't say a word that it's NOW time for release). strange thing...but can't wait to get my hands on these fabrics, they're too cute...i'm already curious what you'll making with these!
cheers, julia
The house is great! Is that real snow in the first pic?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are a true "insider" with the new fabrics...I'll call you Double-O-T. :)
Thinking of doing a gingerbread house this year instead of sugar cookies since we did one 2 years ago when I was preggo:)
ReplyDeleteNope haven't heard of that Hideaway either:)
Cute house! I don't like your chances of keeping the boys away but mate!
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to see hideaway in the flesh! I LOVED Botany so I have been patiently waiting. I Love the colours!!!
