a Christmas tradition

Each year, my grandma bakes up the houses, and we decorate.

Here's my 2010 Gingerbread house.

cookie house!

I was hoping for a Scandanavian/folksy feel; I think I got it.

Cookie house

My favorite part was the cute little walk... until my darling husband stole some of the pieces from it.

the cute little walk

Apparently I have to explain to both my boys that these cookie houses aren't for eating. ;)

Steiger's definitely having a hard time with the concept.

if only I was taller!

Speaking of Folksy -- looky what came from Moda today. :)
It's the new line, Hideaway, from Lauren and Jessi Jung.

I haven't heard much buzz about it, but I really ♥ it. :)  It's so cute.

  1. Love that! I can bake but not gingerbread so I buy the kits every year.

That fabric line looks super cute. This is the first I've seen of it.

  2. I think you nailed the feel pretty well on that house. Well done. It looks good enough to eat! Love the new fabric, too. Really cute!

  3. Tracey, that is so cute! And FYI, Lilli's teacher makes houses for them to decorate by gluing graham crackers to milk cartons, then giving them icing and candies to decorate with! It makes them nice and sturdy....

  7. Your house is so cute! Love it. Creamie keeps telling me that she can eat her house on Christmas, at the party. I guess we'll have to have to figure out some big party.... because she is adamant that there will be big gingerbread consuming festivities.

  8. the gingerbread house looks....yummy :).

actually, i couldn't understand why none of the moda folks advertised 'hideaway' at market & i haven't heard a word from most of my 'new cute collection coming soon' sources except for the u.n. website (even lauren's and jessi's blog didn't say a word that it's NOW time for release). strange thing...but can't wait to get my hands on these fabrics, they're too cute...i'm already curious what you'll making with these!
    cheers, julia
