A couple nights ago, I was working on a layout with my new Lily & Will charm pack I won.
I tried this one
And this one
And this one
With some of this
And a little of this
He's such a great helper.
I'd like to say he likes fabric as much as his mommy does, but really, I think he just doesn't like the competition for attention.
Sorry mommy but that's hilarious and exactly why this mommy has so little sewing time. I wonder which is harder. Sewing with a toddler or sewing with a cat in the house?
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little monkey! I don't have a design wall either -- it's the living room floor for me too. But my kids are old enough to know not to mess with things. It's their friends that are the problem. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics! I like your option two best, I think. But pinwheels are awesome too.

How cute! Maybe you do need a design wall?!!! Your little guy is such a sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteI like both layouts. The pinwheel really does set off the design of these fabrics.
Have fun quilting!
So familiar, and funny...when it's happening to someone else. :) Adorable!
ReplyDeleteHe is one cute kid!!! I know your need for a design wall. I have 3 of those cute kids and a cat and dog that think if I put any fabric on the floor that they need to join in the fun...
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem! I need one, oh well :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love it? I always freak out when I hear my little one downstairs and start hollering at the older ones to close my sewing room door :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Lily/Will charm pack! I'm working on a baby quilt with it. :)
ReplyDeleteMommy's little helper...too cute!
ReplyDeletePaulette
Hehe I keep saying I need one too! I usually use the bed, since it's right behind my desk/work area, but little man still gets up there and thinks its all for him anyway :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE Steiger plowing the tractor through your design. This is my life too! This weekend I had some fabric on the floor and asked Luke not to step on it. So he ran around it as fast as he could without stepping on it. When he accidentally stepped on it (which he did...a lot), he said, "Oops! Sorry Mommy." Sigh. I finally gave up until he went to bed.
ReplyDeleteThat is very funny! Great. I liked your pinwheels. I'm a sucker for them.
ReplyDeleteYup, you need a design wall.
ReplyDeleteExactly what happens at my house. I love the diamond pattern. But then I just made a pinwheel one so maybe I am just ready for a change. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great; I needed that laugh. I think Steiger likes design two.
ReplyDeleteI know someone who made her own design board. I think she took a piece of plywood, covered it in sheets of styrofoam and some soft (clingy) fabric to finish it off. I think it just leans against her wall in the quilt room (which has quite a bit of neatly organized fabric btw). You might have to be careful with something like that with the little guy around though.
Looks familiar.... I love the pinwheels, and I really like the squares. Who knew there was so much you could do with half square triangles. Well, you knew. I'm still a novice at this quilting business.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I need a design wall for the very same reason!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the one with the truck in the centre works best! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a design wall. And a 17 month old grandson who lives with us. He has what used to be my sewing room. He likes to move the pieces around to help me.
ReplyDeleteSince I have no sewing room door to close it off, and pins are not a safe option, I live with the "design changes" he offers up.
At least he is interested, right?
PS I like the squares layout best. Very fresh!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable. I cracked up at the photo of him bringing you the blocks. Time for a design wall, all you need is a felt backed table cloth.
ReplyDeleteI know right! Design wall would be wonderful with a toddler!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! You need some batting tacked up on a blank wall. :) Works like magic. Although I think S would still run his trucks up that wall even if you had one :)
ReplyDeleteWhy is it so funny when it's someone else's kid? ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable diaper baby boy!
ReplyDeletethat is hilarious! I prefer the pinwheel layout - but I will choose pinwheels over pretty much anything else.
