After all your comments, encouragement, and tips, I decided to hook up my printer, make some copies of the pattern, and try again with my paper piecing.
I have no idea if I'm doing it *right* or not, but it worked! :)
Here's the block I made today (in the fabrics originally intended for the pattern -- using paper piecing)
Here's the one I made yesterday.
Not too much difference actually.
I might use this as my 3x6 Sampler Bee block. :)
Happy Fourth!
(And I didn't forget I owe you a giveaway) ;)
I love these blocks! This is going to make a great Christmast quilt.

Your blocks both turned out lovely. The gal who taught me to paper piece said in her experience, people either love it or hate it. I love it. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it an amazing feeling you get when you finally figure something out!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I really love paper piecing but it takes forever if you are doing an entire quilt with it.
ReplyDeleteHey, way to go! Learning paper piecing all by yourself from tutes and videos is hard. Wish I was closer to help out, but by the looks of your gorgeous block you've got it all dialed in.
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are wonderful and will look great all put together.
