I've got a new Bake Shop project!
A really easy to piece, octagonal tree-skirt...
(Kit includes backing, and is only $55... marked down from $72!)
It's cute.
Though not as cute as this guy.
Likes to swing.
Or hang around.
Doubles as a barber cover.
(that's my dad)
I like it. :)
Steiger likes it.
Hope you do too.
Please show me pics if you make it.

ReplyDeleteMy fruitcake arrived today. I have separated my lights and darks and can not wait to get sewing tomorrow! I have been following you for some time now. I first found you through Moda. Somehow I had the feeling from the start that I had known you for some time. I finally realize your son was the connection. He is in a picture with D who has a husband that has a name also beginning with D and they have a daughter whose name is based on dad's name. I worked with D and taught the daughter in 2nd grade, 4th grade, and again in 8th grade. It is a small world.
ReplyDeleteOh my word. The picture with you dad sold me. I could not resist. My fruitcake arrived today. The pastry looked almost too beautiful to dive into, delicious way to package! I have separated my lights and darks and can not wait to get sewing tomorrow!

Hi! I finally finished my skirt. I started it pretty soon after the tutorial came out. I have posted a pic on the Moda Bake Shop Flickr Group. Hope that is where the pic is supposed to go! I love the skirt! Thanks for designing it! Allison W.
ReplyDeleteHi Tracey ~ I have finally started my tree skirt. This is my first time making hourglass blocks and I am really enjoying the process. I feel silly asking what is probably such a basic question, but am I suppose to trim each of my finished blocks to 8.75"? Thank you so much. I hope my tree skirt comes out half as good as yours!
