This is my "Slow Dance" quilt, and is featured in this May 2015 American Quilter magazine.
This quilt was inspired by the traditional Tennessee Waltz pattern, with a few modifications.
You might recognize the design from another quilty friend of mine, Lee of Freshly Pieced, because she has an almost identical pattern. She and I made the quilts completely separately of one Tracey Jacobsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15496520043332895745noreply@blogger.com161tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6362488232004471412.post-18919828285986999782014-12-02T14:16:00.000-08:002014-12-02T14:22:41.934-08:00Nine-patch curves from Quilter's Mixology
I am lucky enough to be friends with the lovely Angela at Cut to Pieces, and knew instantly I wanted to make the Nine Patch Curves quilt from her A Quilter's Mixology: Shaking Up Curved Piecing
Another dear friend of mine got married this past September, but harvest and a new job and a family tragedy impeded my actually getting there. The next best thing I could do was make a quilt.

Welcome to the Bloggers' Quilt Festival!
This is my entry for the year -- my "Leaded Glass" quilt
The design was about 3 years in the making, inspired by its namesake of a cool window I wanted to re-create in fabric, and is featured in this month's issue of American Quilter Magazine (on newsstands now!)
The quilt measures 72" square, and is machine quilted by Natalia Bonner from Tracey Jacobsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15496520043332895745noreply@blogger.com26tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6362488232004471412.post-35978461972083216112014-07-30T15:10:00.000-07:002014-08-04T19:50:32.964-07:00Midwest Family Life giveaway

I need a name for this block pattern I'm working on for the SewLux Christmas tutorials with SewLuxFabric. It will be up tomorrow morning... right now, the top contender is "Pretty Star." :)
I had a different plan, but this felt more inspired.
I do not love paper piecing, so I needed to test the pattern to write it up, and figure out the cutting sizes, etc.

About a year ago or so I learned about fermenting veggies, and as requested, here's my little blog post on how I do pickles.
Supplies:- mason jar- fresh cucumbers (I picked these last night)
- real salt (NOT iodized - I use the himalayan pink salt from Costco)- pickling spices, herbs, garlic, etc.- NOT chlorinated water (we have well water, so I use from the tap)- optional: starter (Tracey Jacobsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15496520043332895745noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6362488232004471412.post-71441769203774972862014-06-04T22:11:00.000-07:002014-06-04T22:11:25.510-07:00"Emily's wedding quilt"
My sweet friend has a sweet baby girl named Emily. Emily's big sister already had a quilt, but we didn't know if this little lady was a baby boy or girl, so her quilt wasn't ready when she was brand new.
Emily just turned one, and over the past year I've had many, many different ideas for her quilt, until I saw this fabric, and knew I wanted to design something around it.
ITracey Jacobsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15496520043332895745noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6362488232004471412.post-48678445952505390582014-06-02T05:00:00.000-07:002014-06-02T05:00:13.679-07:00a baby quilt and destash this fine Monday morning. :)
Good morning friends!
I've had a few quilt finishes in the last couple months believe it or not! ;) One I can't blog yet (bummer), but a couple I can (even if they're small). This first one I started when the little owner of this quilt was just brand new, and for some reason, her name inspired me. And then it sat. For a very long time. Not sure why... but it just happened that way.

You didn't get a post when you turned 2. You will get one now.

I knew I would get it as soon as I came out.
This is Anna Maria Horner's new line, Dowry. And I was so happy to have snatched up a bundle from Caitlin at idon'tdodishes.
That Anna Maria knows how to do color so beautifully!
Caitlin sent me the bundle all stacked together so pretty; it was almost hard to untie it.
While I was there, I picked up some of the Bluebird Park textures too. I love this quilt design. And I love the fabric it's made with.
It was born from a picture of a rug I saw that I thought would make a cool quilt. So I sketched it out, and figured out how to make it work with half-rectangle triangles, some rectangles, and the interplay of two different blocks.
It hasTracey Jacobsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15496520043332895745noreply@blogger.com23tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6362488232004471412.post-85335276649190621952013-10-02T17:04:00.000-07:002013-10-02T17:06:46.811-07:00WIP Wednesday: more treasure boxes
I have another custom quilt I'm working on.
In purples, with a splash of aqua and yellow.
This will be a slightly modified Treasure Boxes design, where I plan to off-set the rows and I sized the blocks to finish at 11" each. The little owner of this quilt will be turning two shortly after Scarlet, so I need to hurry!
I caught my little lady trying to help me finish it up. :)

I finished this little custom quilt last week.
This was my starting stack of fabric.
Kiley's mom told me a few colors and that Kiley wanted "princesses, butterflies, and mermaids." I thought it would be a perfect excuse to use this Alexander Henry "Once Upon a Time" print.
For the design - I stole from an idea I used a long time ago, when I made this little Plume quilt. He really hates painting, but the last couple weekends, he finished up painting Scarlet's room (it wasn't working with what it was before).
The color is "Blanket" from Lowe's. It's somewhere between a mint and aqua. Hoping to get this pretty little custom quilt finished this weekend. :)
I decided to add another row of triangles to the right, then it'll need a border, basting, quilting, and binding!
